You can volunteer your time and skills at R.E.A.D. in three areas:
R.E.A.D. has created an online/pop-up boutique children's bookstore, R.E.A.D. Books to help fund its programs.
The revenue from every book bought from R.E.A.D. Books will be used to buy new, quality, culturally relevant
books for children R.E.A.D. serves. R.E.A.D. Books hosts pop-up events and book fairs. Volunteers help make the events successful. Open event volunteer opportunities include: (click on the position to learn more)
On-going administrative volunteer opportunities involve: stickering books, inserting tips into books, counting donated books, and other administrative tasks as needed.
These tasks are a great fit for youth community service hours; a community group looking for a fun, meaningful way to work together; or family service event.
Email firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in on-going administrative volunteer tasks.
Dedicated administrative volunteer opportunities involve training and dedicated hours and commitment to specific administrative roles. These tasks are great for someone who prefers working from the convenience of home or students who need a project for school. Program volunteer opportunities involve working directly with the families R.E.A.D. serves through our R.E.A.D. Family Stories program. R.E.A.D. Family Stories is a quarterly reading playgroup for families being served by R.E.A.D. Trained volunteers model read-aloud concepts and strategies, introduce fingerplays and songs, and emphasize the importance of reading to their children every day.
